Have you ever wondered what the largest snake that ever lived was? Most of you would guess Anaconda, guess what? You are wrong it’s Titanoboa. This ancient snake lived about 58 million years ago. According to scientists, it was the largest predator on the earth for at least 10 million years. Titanoboa could reach 13 meters in length (43 feet) and it weighed just more than a ton (1000 kilograms)!. If you couldn’t imagine its size here’s a comparison, if you lay 2 giraffes on the ground then Titanoboa would still be longer! And when anaconda and Titanoboa are placed side by side the Titanoboa makes anaconda look like a baby as it is twice the size of anaconda. It can easily swallow a hippopotamus. But Titanoboa mostly preferred fish and this monster could be found in dark swamps and rivers. In addition to fish, they could feast on crocodiles. This monster would attack and strangled its prey in its strong embrace then it would swallow the prey as a whole and digest it slowly. The victim would suffer a compression force that is measured up to 400 pounds per square inch! What would happen if Titanoboa lived with us in this modern era! If it lived in this modern era it would probably live in tropical regions and preferred hot climate such as Venezuela, Panama, and Brazil etc... In this case, people would have to protect their house from Titanoboa’s attacks. They would have to electrify their fences and should have a gun in case of an attack. In the case of food rats and mice would not suit the huge beast. It would eat fishes, jaguars, cougars, crocodiles. It would less probably eat humans as it would rarely attack humans. But for people it would be a welcome prize for them any zoo in the world would dream to get this Ancient snake and its skin would be an expensive item. As a result, the food chain would get changed and smaller animals would migrate to a safer spot. The Amazonia jungle slowly gets impoverished although insects and fungi would start to flourish and evolve. Very soon there will be no lush vegetation!
