THE AMAZING MANTIS SHRIMP

Image
We all consider the ant to be a true heavy hitter, lifting weights 20 times its own body weight, hurrying around  building nests and tunnels without sleep but, if you consider that amazing just wait till you see this critter, The mantis shrimp.   The mantis shrimp unlike other shrimp in it’s family takes a much fearsome role as a predator This one is about to devour the snail, but she’s gotta crack open it first right??. She carefully positions her legs and punches the snail with its legs with the force of a .22 caliber bullet, yup you heard me right an aquatic organism that can punch and crack open a snail’s shell with the force of a .22 caliber bullet!!, it’s the fastest attack in the entire animal kingdom!!.   This shrimp is called a smasher. The other is called a spearer buried under sand ambushes and impales its prey using a blade at blinding speed and drags it into the sand!! What makes mantis shrimp amazing isn't only it’s blinding speed but also its eyes unlike

THINGS WHICH CANT BE DONE IN SPACE.

When we generally hear any topic we start to think about it, if you know something about it we get excited to know something more about it. Such is the topic of space comes , Everyone might have heard about what is there in space and we know space is just huge and we want to know more about it.

When we generally here any topic  we start to think about it ,if you know something about it we get excited to know something more about it . Such is the topic of space comes ,Everyone might have heard about what is there in space and we know space is just huge and we want to know more about it.

Here are some of the things which we cannot do in space

Space lives by its own laws... therefore some of the things we do here on Earth are impossible there. Like flushing a toilet, or even crying!

ü First off all you can’t cry in space! If u try really hard to beep but tears can’t be shed. They shed because of the gravity law which works differently on a spaceship. So if you cry the tears accumulate in your eyes so the more you cry the bigger the tear clump gets. Even if you don’t cry it is impossible having a normal face, it will be puffy in new conditions.

ü You cannot flush the toilets in space! First water is the most precious resource in a spaceship, second there is no running water. The portable water on a space station comes in pouches or packets. For either number in weightlessness there is a device with suction and disposable bags to put inside it. The storage gets changed after every ten days, also the ISS (international space station) is equipped with a super complicated device that recycles and filters waste into the water that the astronauts use every day!

ü A sandwich, crispy chips and an avocado are some of the foods that you are never gonna eat in space. The zero gravity would carry all the crumbs away while you are nibbling away the cookies, those crumbs spread all over the spaceship in no time and believe me the best place they are going to end up is in your eyes! Otherwise it can interfere with the spaceship equipment which is something you don’t want it to happen! Astronauts have a variety of meals including food that can be eaten in their normal form and pasta which requires some boiling as water and heating ovens are provided as well as the essential gear.

ü There are no fridges in space. So you can’t save the leftovers for tomorrow. You can have variety of condiments like ketchups, mayo and even mustard.

ü Astronauts can’t sprinkle any items in space that concerns salt and sugar too! For the rest the astronaut’s meal looks like any other regular meal.

ü There cannot be campfire inside the spaceship and they cannot open their windows as there is only sufficient amount of oxygen.

ü There won’t be any freshly brewed coffee in space! U can still have coffee but you gave to do it with their capsule version. Food and beverage tastes something different in space as astronauts say it tastes stronger back in earth.

ü You can’t normally shave and cut your nails they would float all around the spaceship! Astronauts use either disposable razors or electric razors. When using disposable razors they first have to wet their skin and after shaving they have to pour water slumps into the razors and collect them and dispose them. If they use electric razors the razors have in built vacuum suction so that they suck all the hairs. Astronauts cut their nails in front of an air duct which has a suction device

ü You can’t use any face creams or body creams or shampoos in space. The astronauts are equipped with a no rinse body bath pouch to use it. The astronauts should fill with 6oz (180 ml) of hot water and 2 oz (60ml) of cold water. If you need to bath you need to spread soapy bubbles onto your body and dry it.

ü Astronauts can’t clean their brush after brushing their teeth. The only thing they can do is that they have to swallow the toothpaste and there is nothing wrong with it as astronauts say it’s edible!

ü Astronauts can’t sleep like people on earth. People in space see more than 10 sunrises and sunsets a day because their orbital velocity is more than 15000 Mph (28000 Kph) this messes up their sleeping pattern. Astronauts have to sleep regardless of the sun. Another problem is zero gravity. Our body temperature generally decreases when we lie down but that’s not the case in the spaceship due to zero gravity.

Astronauts cannot use normal pens or pencils in space as the ink doesn’t flow at zero gravity. So they use a special pen called the space pen which was introduced in 1965 it had a cartridge pressurised with nitrogen so that the ink is pressurized towards the tip. This pen can be used literally anywhere like under water or in subzero temperatures

  1. One of the most interesting and fun things I have read in a long time. It reminded me of the Big Bang Theory series. Informative and fun facts😂
